A loan of $375 helps to improve her horticultural farming business, which has been significantly affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Fridah's story

Fridah is a 26-year-old mother of two children and lives in Meru, a place where every Kiva lender would like to be, to enjoy the beautiful climate and observe the great Mount Kenya and other staggering hills in the region.

Fridah is a mixed farmer with 15 years of farming experience. She is seeking this loan to improve her horticultural farming business, which has been significantly affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Unlike banks and other local money lenders who operate mainly in urban centres, Juhudi Kilimo, a Kiva field partner, has extended its operations to the most remote areas of Kenya, creating opportunities for different people to access loans.

Fridah is hopeful that Kiva lenders are going to respond positively to her loan request. She has thanked her lenders in advance for responding positively.

This loan is special because:

It finances smallholder farmers to purchase dairy cows, chickens, cereals, farm inputs and farming equipment.
