A loan of $3,525 helps a member to purchase meat, baked goods, vegetables, seasonings, and other raw materials.

Nueva Esperanza Group's story

This committee is composed of 21 people, all from the Concepción zone, a sensitive area because of the presence of armed gangs. The members strive for ways of offering a better quality of life for their loved ones and for them not to go without.

One of these is Gregoria, who works selling food. Her business has allowed her to be able to help her family so that they have a dignified life without suffering want. She is widowed and mother to four children for whom she strives so they can get ahead. She says that she has done this all on her own.

She is requesting this loan to purchase raw materials to make her dishes, like meat, baked goods, vegetables, seasonings, and other supplies.

Note: This photograph features three people but it is a group loan; a group photo wasn't possible because of the need to prevent groups of people due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
