A loan helped a member to buy tree tomato, passion fruits, and oranges from her portion of the loan.

Ituze Cb Group's story

Afisa is a 38-year-old fruit vendor and mother of six children aged from 3 to 16 years. Her husband has been a farmer for the past five years. She is the leader of the ITUZE CB group, which means “to be stable” in English. The group members sell different items and own a variety of businesses. Afisa will use her portion of the loan to buy tree tomato, passion fruits and oranges to sell in her community. With the profit from her sales, she will be able to set aside some savings and expand her business. She is grateful for the support from the lenders. Due to the global pandemic, Urwego was not able to photograph all of the group members. However, the photograph shows one member who is representing the group.

In this group: Odette, Ruth, Godelieve, Mediatrice, Denyse, Daniel, Jean Damascene, Esperance, Emmanuel, Jeanne, Alphonsine, Eugenie, Marie Rose, Christine, Fortunee, Violette, Drocella, Dative, Egidia, Alphonsine, Afisa, Francoise, Dieudonne, Marie, Daniel
