A loan of $500 helped to buy construction materials.

Yolanda's story

Yolanda lives in the Monte Alto neighborhood of La Guardia, located 20 km away from the town of Santa Cruz. Her activity is to sell empanadas (stuffed bread), the typical Santa Cruz chicha (chicha being a variety of maize-derived fermented beverage, common all over South America), and fried chickens. Her husband works in constructions, and provides for the family together with his wife. Their children are attending school. The loan she is requesting will be used to build a canopy in her house that will shelter the vehicle she uses as transportation mean for her activity. She needs to buy construction materials such as tiles, concrete and so on. She has been living in the area for 8 years and has been engaging in her activity for about the same amount of time. She is a very hard-working and responsible person, always preoccupied with the well-being of her family. She is really thankful to Emprender and Kiva for the confidence shown in granting the loan.
