A loan of $1,000 helps to buy more clothing and other items to increase her sales.

Agnes's story

Greetings from Sierra Leone! This is 35-year-old Agnes from Kissy bye pass branch. She is married and the mother of a one-year-old child.

For the past five years Agnes has had a business selling clothing and other items. She started this business to care for herself and support her family. Her other source of income comes from her husband’s business. Her main challenge is slow sales sometimes during this COVID-19 pandemic.

Agnes requested this loan through BRAC Sierra Leone to buy more clothing and other items to increase her sales. She says that the extra income from this loan will help to improve her business and take care of her family. In the future she would like to scale up her business. She says thanks to BRAC and Kiva for their support.

This loan is special because:

It provides access to funding in areas where there are limited alternative sources of finance.
