A loan of $650 helps to buy farming inputs to optimize production and make more income for her family.

Rose's story

Rose is 34 years old and has 4 school going children. She is a mother living in Nyamira, a land of seemingly never ending beauty. Rose has been a mixed dairy and crop farmer for the past 6 years. Through farming, she has turned her life around.

One objective that Juhudi Kilimo aims at fulfilling is increasing the ease of accessing farm inputs and income-generating assets for farmers. Through the intervention of Juhudi Kilimo and Kiva, fertilizers, pesticides and other important farm inputs have become more accessible to its members than buying a bottle of water.

Rose is seeking this loan to buy farming inputs which she plans to use to optimize her production and make more income for her family. A loan to her will be vital to achieve food security in her home during this period of global economic recession.

This loan is special because:

It finances smallholder farmers to purchase dairy cows, chickens, cereals, farm inputs and farming equipment.
