Lilian's story

Lilian is a 54-year-old mother of two children living in Eldoret, a town that was significantly impacted by the 2007–2008 Kenyan crisis. She is a mixed dairy and crop farmer with 18 years of experience.

The COVID-19 pandemic has posed a significant threat to the economy of Kenya, causing a lot of uncertainty and disrupting food supply chains. Juhudi Kilimo, in partnership with Kiva, is on the front line of supporting smallholder farmers and micro-entrepreneurs during this difficult period. Lilian is seeking a loan to buy farming inputs, which she will use to improve her production and make more income to support her family. Support her at this time when the world is focused on combating COVID-19!

This loan is special because:

It finances smallholder farmers to purchase dairy cows, chickens, cereals, farm inputs and farming equipment.
