God We Trust Group's story

Macia C., who is holding the sign, is the leader of a group of five borrowers called God We Trust. She is 37 years old, single and has three children who range from 6 to 14 years old. She was only able to attend school through 12th grade due to a lack of financial support.

For 8 years, she has been selling sugar, flour, palm oil and rice in Redlight Market on the outskirts of Monrovia, Liberia. She plans to use her 6,000 Liberian Dollars portion of this 26,000 Liberian Dollars group loan to buy more sugar, flour, palm oil and rice. She describes herself as a devoted mother.

Her goal is to improve her business, build a house and continue to educate her children.
