A loan helped to purchase a solar home system in order to gain access to electricity.

Theuon's story

Theuon, aged 28, is married and has a child who is attending school. He lives with his family located in the Tuek Phos district, Kampong Chhnang province. He earns an income by working as a construction worker.

Being a responsible father, Theuon works hard and strongly every day to generate income so that he can cover his daily costs. He works in this occupation in his community with his team, providing this service to customers. He works at construction sites performing physical tasks such as cleaning, removing debris, loading and unloading materials. With his hard effort, he can earn approximately $6 USD per day, which has to cover the expense of daily meals and other necessary things, especially his child's education fees.

Due to a shortage of finances, Theuon has applied for a loan to purchase a solar home system in order to gain access to electricity. In this way, he can provide light for his children to study at night and use other home devices such as TV, radio, etc.

With the loan support, he hopes to improve his general living conditions and make their lives more comfortable. He thanks lenders for their financial support via Hattha Bank, which provides him with a much lower interest rate than its general loan product.

This loan is special because:

It provides access to clean, renewable energy sources, like solar and biogas.
