Khamplong's story

Khamplong lives in a Khmer community of Surin province, in the northeastern region of Thailand, which is the lowest income per capita region. Basically, she earns an income from weaving and selling silk cloth as well as cultivating a rice farm to make a living.

Khamplong has taken a Kiva loan to invest in the silk weaving business in 2020 and the business has been going well so far. She is very skillful in design and weaving, so her product is desired by customers from inside and outside of her community. At this time, she seeks a loan from Kiva to expand the business; to buy silk thread, dye colors, and materials for weaving silk cloth.

The loan will be very helpful for her to expand the business. It will support a female entrepreneur to create more income for spending in her family. In the future, Khamplong desires to develop the market channel and sustain the business.
