A loan helped to plant 2 manzanas of beans and 2 manzanas of corn.

Martha's story

Martha is single and the mother of two children. She works in agriculture. Thanks to her father, her family is able to have a considerable extent of land. Along with her siblings, she works these lands in several ways: they sow basic grains, vegetables, and coffee, and raise cattle. They are a very united family who have managed to get ahead by utilizing the resource left to them by their father.

Martha would like to plant beans and corn on her land for this first agricultural season in the region. Therefore she is requesting a loan with Kiva funds through Aldea Global to plant 2 manzanas of beans and 2 manzanas of corn (1 manzana is about 1.7 acres). She provides good maintenance to her crops and yields good outputs at harvest time. This loan will be invested in the purchase of agricultural inputs and fertilizer.
