Quisirmitas Group's story

The Quisirmitas (the Aymara word for "ants") community association is soliciting a loan for the first time. The association has nine members, eight women and one man. Its president is Sra. Bertha M.. The association is attached to the Centro Focal de Los Andes.

Sra. Bertha has operated a business selling socks for 10 years. Her stand is on Avenida Panoramica in the 16 de Julio neighborhood.

Sra. Bertha is borrowing Bs.2000 and she says that she will use the money to buy merchandise for resale. The better stocked her business, the more she is likely to sell. The members of the association operate various business: making and selling knitted sweaters and hats, operating food stores, producting alpaca wool, selling clothing and fish, and operating corner shops.
