A loan helped a member to stock up on bundles of second-hand clothing, which will add to her start-up capital.

Utukufu Group's story

Mme Faida is a client of Hekima IMF and presides over the business group "Utukufu". She is married, 53 years old, and mother of 13 children, all of whom go to school. Her partner is a pastor.

She is a seller of second-hand clothing, a business she began in 2020 with start-up funds from her husband. Later, she joined the Hekima program to support her business. Over the course of her involvement with Hekima, her business has grown steadily. With this new loan, she will stock up on bundles of second-hand clothing, which will add to her start-up capital. Her business has not had any problems.

She would like for her children to continue their studies, and she would like to develop her business. Lastly, she wishes to thank Hekima and its partners for the support they have brought to the owners of non-bankable businesses in this context of global crisis tied to Covid-19. The photo is of only the leader of the group due to Covid-19 and a respect for social distancing measures.

In this group: Beatrice, Faida, Antoinette, Kubaburhanzi, Pascaline
