A loan of $3,300 helped a member to buy salon equipment.

Jogoo Group's story

Furaha B., age 27, is married with two children who are 5 and 3 years old. She has had a beauty salon for eight years. She works from 8 am to 9 pm and she is able to make a monthly profit of about $87.

This will be Furaha’s second loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. She used the previous loan to buy salon equipment and she has paid back the loan successfully. She hopes for a loan to buy more salon equipment. Her dream is to open a food café when she gets a bigger loan.

Furaha will share this loan with her loan group, Jogoo, which includes 16 members. The members of the group will hold each other accountable in paying back the loan.
