A loan helped to build a safe latrine at home.

Nat's story

Nat is a married woman who has been residing in the Bakan district of Pursat Province. She is the mother of six children, one of whom is attending school. Nat has been working in the agricultural businesses for the major source of the family’s income. She owns and manages a few hectares of farmland on which she can grow rice and vegetables for sale each harvesting season. For a better income, Nat devotes her spare time to raising some poultry at home. After three to four months of fattening, she sells them to local tradesmen or butchers and earns a suitable income to support her family.

Currently, her house doesn't have a safe latrine, so she cannot provide a sanitary latrine to her family members. She is requesting a loan to build a safe latrine at home. In this way she hopes to increase the value of her home and improve sanitation, ensuring healthy living conditions to safeguard the health of her family and protect the environment. With the support of this loan, she will be able to purchase construction supplies such as bricks and cement to build a safe latrine and pay for labor costs. She believes that through her hard work and perseverance, she will be able to attain a better standard of living someday.
