Margarita's story

Margarita E. is 33 years old and lives in the department of San Salvador along with her two children, ages 18 and 13. For the past 10 years Margarita has made a living selling flatbreads, lunches, tortillas, juices and sodas at the Sagrado Corazón (Sacred Heart) market, one of the biggest markets in the country's capital that sees an immense number of visitors every day. Margarita is very well known at her stand and has regular customers who eat at her business every day. She is a hard-working woman who dedicates herself to her job, making high-quality and flavorful meals that have made her so well known at her stand. It's thanks to this business that she has been able to provide for her household, since she doesn't have any other source to help out her children, who are dedicating themselves to their education. Margarita is requesting a loan so she can purchase corn, rice, cheese, beans, pork rinds, meats, vegetables, refreshments and everything else she needs to make more meals and in this way help her business prosper more.
