Cristo Redentor : Grupo 7 Group's story

Carmen is a 32 year old young mother and Dominican entrepreneur. She resides in a neighborhood of San Pedro de Macorís with her three children and her life partner. In the Dominican neighborhoods there are pockets of extreme poverty where the majority of the population consists of single mothers, widows and orphaned children amongst other people living with scarcity. Carmen completed her secondary schooling and started to take extracurricular classes in skin and hair care.

Carmen works as a manicurist. She deals with the care and embellishment of hands, her specialty being the care and painting of nails. Carmen provides this service to her customers at her house and also makes house calls. She is requesting this loan to buy materials like nail polish, acetone, cotton, creams, files, nail clippers, etc. Her desire is to have a shop to provide better service for her customers. Her dream is for her business to grow to provide a better quality of service for her children.
