Rose's Group's story

Pictured above is Rose, often described as an extremely hardworking individual. She is 44-years-old and, as a group leader, she is representing her group of 11 farmers in Kakamega B (North) District, Kenya.

Rose is returning this season to work with One Acre Fund again as this means that she is able to earn enough to feed her family, which is why she decided to join in the first place. Rose says that she is happy to have made that decision because, since she first joined in 2015, she has gained a lot of respect in her community, which has improved her day-to-day life significantly. Rose will use the profits from this season to save more money for the future.

The group will use this loan to purchase seeds and fertilizer to plant a total of 5.5 acres. Additionally, some of the farmers in the group will be purchasing a solar light so, with this loan, the group will also receive a total of 2 solar lights.

In this group: Rose, Carolyne, Catherine, Eddah, Brilliantine, Maria, Micheal, Monicah, Fanice, Susan, Torokasi

This loan is special because:

It supports smallholder farmers to purchase seeds and solar lanterns.
