Margarita's story

My name is Margarita, I was born in Bogota Colombia, and had a degree in Special Education. Most of my work experience has been in the admin area. I am a single mother for almost 9 years and it challenged me to find ways on how to survive and feed my child. Cooking has been my passion since my son was born, I always wanted to give him a good quality of food, so back in Colombia, I had a small fast-food business where I learned how to manage and do some kitchen tricks.
When I came to the USA, I started selling Colombian cookies and desserts with a friend. Due to destiny, I moved to California with my son and I worked by cleaning house. Until I got to a company where I started as a food demonstrator and worked my way up to the administrative area (handling payments, billing, HR, etc.) for more than 10 years. In 2018, I quit my job and started my own business.

This loan is special because:

It supports a female immigrant entrepreneur in expanding their business.
