A loan of $1,525 helped a member purchase of athletic shoes.

Bronco Group's story

The "Bronco" Communal Bank is made up of eight people, seven women and one man. This is their first loan cycle, and they have María F. as their president.

The above-mentioned communal bank belongs to the Santiago II Regional Office. Maria's business is selling athletic shoes, which she has done for four years.

Her customers are generally people who live in the departments of Potosí, Santa Cruz and Tarija. For this first loan the association approved her for 2000 bolivianos, an amount of money that will help her increase her capital.

She says that she likes the loans from Pro Mujer because the saving is biweekly.

The members of the communal bank have different types of businesses: fried chicken sales ("pollos a la broster"), food sales, perfume sales, grocery sales and electrical services.
