A loan helped to purchase a box of ice cream and ice pops to stock up her fridge, to better provide for her customers.

Tokafori's story

Tokafori lives in an urban district which is located just a five-minute drive to Port Vila city. Her community is very small, and the main industry is food. Her community is in the center of a college, a technical school and a university so making a stable income has been good. Tokafori is 39 years old, and has her partner and a child of 13 years. She lives with her family in a shanty home on community land.

Tokafori has requested a loan to help her pay for a box of ice cream and ice pops to stock up her fridge, to better provide for her customers. She also makes delicious food to sell to earn income from. With the earned revenue, she will save up so she can pay for a piece of land for her family. She has been in her business for three years now.

Tokafori dreams of improving her family's living conditions and she believes with her loans she can achieve those dreams. South Pacific Business Development (Vanuatu) Ltd has supported her for over three years now, and this is her fourth loan. She has been faithful in her previous loan repayments. Through her loans, Tokafori is motivated to expand her business and become a successful businesswoman.
