Villa Quintiarina Group's story

Villa Quintiarina is a communal bank formed by nine members and led by Aquiles, who is the president and representative of ACPD. They are in their 26th loan cycle and are highly committed to continuing to get ahead. This photograph features the leadership team of president, treasurer and secretary; because of the pandemic only three of the group are present.

Aquiles is 54 years old, hard-working, early rising and responsible, particularly with his family: he has two children, the elder of whom is 11 and the younger 3. He works making and selling bread, cakes, and some finger foods. Over five years ago Aquiles installed a small bakery in the front part of his home. Both he and his wife take care of the business and this very much supports their economy.

They are looking to continue getting ahead through this business they have worked for. They need this loan to purchase supplies such as flour, food colouring and other products so they can continue producing breads and cakes to offer their clients and keep them satisfied.

Their goal is to build their home out of quality materials. For this reason they work hard and also have additional work: she has a small cocoa plantation and at times sells other products from the area. Their aim is to have other outlets and continue offering quality products.

In this group: Zolma Eugenia, Aquiles, Victor, Elizabeth, Cirilo, Eugenia, Yury Edgar, Yoel, Rudiza
