01_Cite Lamy Group's story

This group belongs to the banc villageois which has been located in the region since December 2008. It is made up of three brave women who live in the same neighbourhood and have business in common. They support one another.

Madame Bigué is 44 years old and is the representative. She is on the left of the photo with her hand raised. She is married and the mother of eight children: five boys and three girls of whom seven attend school.

Madame Bigué runs a business selling food products which she purchases at the market in the city and resells from her home to her neighbours. She has been doing business this way for more than ten years. She will purchase 10 sacks of potatoes, 10 sacks of onions, two sacks of powdered milk and four packs of liquid milk. She has no difficulty selling these products particularly during fasting periods.

The profits will allow her to save, prepare for a rainy day and to assure her children continue to receive an education.
