A loan of $375 helped purchase poultry feed.

María Betty's story

María Betty is a 35 year old mother who lives with her two children in the village of Tranca Sasape, a rural area in the district of Mórrope. This community is part of a central town where many businesses are located. The people living in the neighboring villages are modest and hardworking. This area is part of Lambayeque province and located more than an hour and a half away from the city of Chiclayo.

Like most of the women in the area, María raises and sells animals to help generate income. She raises poultry in an area behind her house. When the animals are fully developed, she offers them for sale to merchants who visit the area.

María wants to improve the diet of the animals she raises so that she can earn more income and make a few improvements to her home. For this reason, she is requesting her first loan from Edpyme Alternativa in the amount of 1000 PEN to help accomplish this goal.

María is well-known in her area. Her neighbors consider her to be an honorable and trustworthy woman.
