God Bless Group's story

Mabinty K. (pictured second from the right) is the leader of this group. This 45-year-old is a widow with three children. Mabinty has been a businesswoman for a year now. She makes and sells laundry soap. With her share of this loan, she will buy soap-making materials like palm oil, caustic soda, rubber bowls and hand gloves in order to produce a larger quantity of soap for sale.

These are members of the “God Bless Group" from Makeni, a city in Northern Sierra Leone. They are all local entrepreneurs who have come to SMT, a Kiva partner, to apply for a loan of 800,000 leones each. With the help of this loan, they will be able to expand their businesses, make more sales and consequently improve their living conditions.
