A loan of $300 helped to buy clippers and haircare products.

René's story

René N. was born on March 10, 1980, in Cotonou, the economic capital of Benin. He's married to Clotilde HOUNSINOU, a hairdresser. The couple has two children, who both attend school. Approximately eight years ago, René moved in to the Dandji neighborhood in Sèmè-Podji, where he lives with his wife and children.

René is the family's main bread earner, thanks to the income drawn from his business. He dropped out of middle school, and was then trained as a hairdresser. He's been running this business for three years.

With the goal of outfitting his salon with the equipment he needs to do his job properly, as well as to better meet customer demand, René is for the first time seeking a loan from Kiva's partner, ALIDé.
