The seven members of the Benkadi 7 group are married women who, on average, are 42 years old with 6 children. Most of them live in polygamous families in Zambougou, one of the villages of the prefecture of Dioïla, Koulikoro region, 2nd administrative region of Mali. They collaborate with the Soro Yiriwaso microfinance institution in order to better organize their activities at the beginning of the rainy season. Among others, the crops cultivated are peanuts, pearl millet, corn and beans. This is their first planting loan with the institution. With this loan, BALAFO S. plans to pay for planting supplies before the price increases, small tools and ploughing to maintain approximately 1 hectare of peanuts.
The crops are sold in the towns of Dioïla and Fana after the harvest to a clientele composed of men and women. They expect to make an average profit of 30,000 CFA at the end of the crop year.

Les sept membres du groupe Benkadi 7 sont des femmes mariées avec une moyenne d’âge de 42 ans et en moyenne 6 enfants. Elles vivent la plupart dans des familles polygames à Zambougou, un des villages de la préfecture de Dioïla, région de Koulikoro, 2ème région administrative du Mali.
Elles collaborent avec l’institution de microfinance Soro Yiriwaso dans le but de pouvoir mieux organiser leurs activités en début d’hivernage.
Les spéculations cultivées sont entre autres l’arachide, le petit mil, le maïs et le haricot. Elles sont à leur premier prêt de campagne avec l’institution.
Avec ce prêt, BALAFO S. compte acheter les intrants avant la hausse des prix, les petits équipements et payer les frais de labour pour entretenir environs 1 hectare d’arachide.
Les productions sont vendues au niveau de la ville de Fana et à Dioïla après les récoltes à une clientèle composée d’hommes et de femmes. Elles comptent réaliser un bénéfice moyen de 30000FCFA environs en fin de campagne.

Soro Yiriwaso is a microfinance institution that works primarily in rural and semi-urban areas of Mali to provide underprivileged communities with access to financial services.The organization facilitates access for disadvantaged clients, particularly women, to new resources and services, fostering solidarity and cooperation among its clients. Kiva lenders’ funds will enable Soro Yiriwaso to expand its outreach and target even more underserved Malians involved in business and agriculture.
