A loan helped purchase lignum vitae (Treed of life).

Carlos Miguel's story

Carlos Miguel and his family live in Montecristi Canton, a region known for its handcrafts and deeply affected by the Covid 19 pandemic.
He is a hard worker who wants to provide his family with the best, which he does through his labor and thanks to loans which make it possible for him to get ahead. In spite of difficulties which continue, he had been making buttons out of tagua (palm ivory), but currently he has another business that provides a better income, so he is dedicating more time to it. Together with his wife, he sells palo santo, an aromatic wood which is used as a fly repellent. He already has many clients he supplies with this product, both wholesale and piecemeal.
Carlos Miguel will use the loan to purchase palo santo.
