The ten members of the group Tiessiri 2 are married women who average 38 years of age and five children.  They live for the most part in polygamous families in Tiendo, a village in Dioïla prefecture, Koulikoro region (2nd administrative region of the Republic of Mali).  They are collaborating with the micro-finance institution Soro Yiriwaso with the goal of organizing their businesses better at the start of winter.  The crops are peanuts, pearl millet, corn, and okra.  The group members are on their third farm loan, and the preceding loans have been repaid.

With this new loan, MARIA D. intends to buy supplies (before prices rise) and sundry equipment and to cover the cost of labor for maintaining one hectare of peanuts.  After the harvest, the produce is sold to a customer base composed of women and men in the cities of Dioïla and Fana.

The group members plan on making an average profit of 35,000 francs CFA, approximately, at the end of the planting season.

Les dix membres du groupe Tiessiri 2 sont des femmes mariées avec une moyenne d’âge de 38 ans et ont en moyenne 5 enfants. Elles vivent la plupart dans des familles polygames à Tiendo, un des villages de la préfecture de Dioïla, région de Koulikoro, 2ème région administrative du Mali.
Elles collaborent avec l’institution de microfinance Soro Yiriwaso dans le but de pouvoir mieux organiser leurs activités en début d’hivernage.
Les spéculations cultivées sont ’arachide, le petit mil, le maïs et le gombo. Elles sont à leur troisième prêt de campagne et les précédents ont été bien remboursés.
Avec ce nouveau prêt, MARIA D. compte acheter les intrants avant la hausse des prix, les petits équipements et payer les frais de labour pour entretenir environs 1 hectare d’arachide.
La production est vendue au niveau de la ville de Dioïla et Fana après les récoltes à une clientèle composée d’hommes et de femmes.
Elles comptent réaliser un bénéfice moyen de 35.000FCFA environ en fin de campagne.

Soro Yiriwaso is a microfinance institution that works primarily in rural and semi-urban areas of Mali to provide underprivileged communities with access to financial services.The organization facilitates access for disadvantaged clients, particularly women, to new resources and services, fostering solidarity and cooperation among its clients.
