A loan of $550 helped buy more fruit and sell it wholesale.

Herlinda's story

Herlinda, age 37, is a happy and enterprising woman. She lives with her life partner, 38 year old Walter, and their two beautiful children. This family lives together in their own house. Her two children are the motivation for her to do her best at work everyday. She has been growing coffee and bananas for five years. Also, she is a businesswoman selling fruit from the Peruvian jungle. She gets them from her neighbors who produce these fruits. She buys them, boxes them, and takes them to the Huancayo and Lima markets to sell. Her life partner offers public transportation services. On his days off he helps Herlinda with the farming and in the business. She enjoys the tranquility of the fields. Nevertheless, it is difficult for her to take her products to the markets. That is why she stocks her store with the harvest. Even though this job does not discourage her, it is seemingly self-sacrificing. At the same time it is profitable. Thanks to the profits she is able to give an adequate quality of life to her family. That is why she plans to continue planting coffee, and most of all, she will increase her products and stock her establishment with them. This is her second loan with MFP. She pledges to continue working in an active manner in her communal bank. She will use the requested loan to buy more fruit in order to continue selling it wholesale. She will also buy tires for her husband’s car.
