A loan of $825 helps a member to purchase hybrid seeds and fertilizer for maize cultivation.

Immaculate's Group's story

Immaculate, pictured above, has been a farmer for more than 20 years. She is now proud to represent her group of 18 farmers in Lugari District. She is 46 years old, married and has 4 children.

Immaculate likes to think of herself as a very friendly person. She has been working alongside One Acre Fund since 2016 and decided to represent her group because she wanted to help more farmers. She says that being part of the One Acre Fund community has meant that she has been able to consistently feed her family. Immaculate plans to use the profits from this coming season to send her children to school.

In total, Immaculate’s Group will receive inputs to cultivate 12 acres of land. Given that one member of the group will also be purchasing a solar light, with this loan, the group will also receive a total of 1 solar light.

In this group: Immaculate, Everlyne, Samwel, Saidi, Rosemary, Monicah, Francis, Gladwel, Hellen, Everliny, Peter, Elkana, Salome, Peter, Elizabeth, Joram, Benard, Anne

This loan is special because:

It supports smallholder farmers to purchase seeds and solar lanterns.
