Maria Purificacion's story

Sra. Maria M. is a member of the Nuevas Amigas community bank in the parrish of Cumbe. The parrish is considered beautiful and is known for its wide plains. The local people make a living from farming and raising livestock. Many young people have migrated from the area in search of better economic opportunities.

Sra. Maria has been a member of the bank for 3 years. She is responsible for household duties but makes the most of her day by raising cattle and producing milk which she then sells to local buyers of milk.

Sra. Maria is 62 years old. She is married and the mother of 8 children, all grown, married and independent. Her husband works in construction. She will use the loan to buy a cow so that she can continue to expand her business.

Her greatest hope is to always have good health.
