Elizabeth Concepción's story

Elizabeth Concepción P., 40, lives in Santa Tecla, La Libertad department. She lives with her family which is composed of her husband, who is a farmer, and their four children who are 20, 14, 12 and 8 years of age. Their oldest son works as a mechanic and the other three children are students.

Elizabeth is a vegetable merchant; her stand is located outside Santa Tecla’s municipal market in front of Daniel Hernández park. This is a place with lots of foot traffic because it’s centrally located and several bus stops are there as well as many businesses selling a variety of items.

She is a very intelligent person. She also grows cucumbers in her yard that she includes in her sales.

Elizabeth is asking for funds to buy larger amounts of vegetables to invest in her business so that she can have more variety to offer. She has the great advantage of being located on the main street so her profits are good so she hopes to stock more vegetables so that her sales will increase.
