A loan of $375 helped purchase of kneading machine.

Luz's story

Luz is 62 years old. She lives with her husband and her son in their own home. For over fourteen years, she has worked making cookies with her husband, who gained experience when he worked in a bakery. Now both husband and wife work actively in the family business, preparing and selling cookies for their most demanding clients--merchants and shopkeepers.

Normally the couple employs two workers who are responsible for preparing the dough. What they enjoy most about their business is that it is profitable in spite of the hard work involved. Because the baking requires a lot of effort, they are planning to buy sophisticated machines in the future, which will make the preparation faster and more efficient.

This is the Luz's first loan with MFP. Luz is very happy knowing that she has financial support for her business. She enjoys being part of a community microfinance group, because all its members are very responsible and supportive. She appreciates her group members supporting her with the loan, as the money will be very useful in the development of her business. With the loan she is requesting, Luz will invest in the purchase of a second-hand kneading machine.
