A loan of $300 helped purchase non-perishable ingredients.

Sonia's story

Sonia is a 42 year old widow and lives in the house of her parents with her two children. For more than ten years, she has sold food from home and also as a street merchant. Whenever there are festivals, she sets up a small tent so that she can prepare to sell food. Sometimes her children help with the preparation, but she generally works in her business alone. Throughout this time she has demonstrated that she can generate good earnings to satisfy her needs, which has motivated her to continue her business. One of her goals is to open a country restaurant so that she can earn more income.

This is her first loan with MFP. Sonia is happy to know that she has financial backing and is glad to be part of her Communal Bank because all of the members are responsible and supportive people. She thanks those individuals who will approve her loan request since the funds will be very useful in advancing her business. The loan she requested will be invested in the purchase of non-perishable ingredients such as condiments, rice, and other products so that she can be well-stocked and prepare her food easily.
