A loan of $600 helped expand business and cattle farm.

Miryan Amaril's story

Miryan Amaril A. A. is a 32-year-old woman who lives with her husband and 2 children, Fátima (15) and Diomede (7), in the Guaranda canton of the Bolívar province.

Miryan is a member of the Patrón San Juan rural microfinance institute, located a half an hour from Guaranda. There is a total of 16 members in the group, the majority of whom cultivate corn and potatoes. This is the group's first loan from the San José cooperative.

Miryan has been working for the last 15 years doing domestic work and working at the vegetable market in Echeandia. She also raises cows and pigs. She makes her purchases in Guaranda and sells her products every Sunday in Echeandia.

She is requesting this loan in order to expand her business and her cattle farm. She thinks that this loan will help her improve her quality of life. Her dream is to own a house and a plot of land, as well as help her children become professionals. She says that there is a lack of communication, which is a big problem.

She likes to knit sweaters and ponchos in her spare time.
