A loan of $550 helps a member to purchase hybrid seeds and fertilizer to improve harvests of maize.

Sarah's Group's story

Pictured above is Sarah, who is often described as an extremely resourceful person. She is 47 years old and has 5 children. As a group leader, she is representing 12 farmers in Alego District, Kenya.

Sarah is returning this season to work with One Acre Fund because this means that she is able to have access to quality training and acquire new farming methods, which is why she decided to join in the first place. Sarah says that she is happy to have made that decision because, since she first joined in 2016, she has been able to consistently feed her family, which has improved her day-to-day life significantly. Sarah will use the profits from this season to repair her home.

The group will use this loan to purchase seeds and fertilizer to plant 6.25 acres. The group will also receive 2 solar lights.

In this group: Sarah, Absalom, Beri, Josphine, Claris, Roselida, Carroline, Rose, Simon, Milka, Janet, Joseph
