A loan of $375 helped purchase compost.

Nilda's story

Nilda is 42 years old and a cheerful hardworking mother. She lives in her own home with her husband Samuel, age 47, and their two dependent children who are the main reason behind all of her efforts. Nilda grows potatoes and peas. Every morning she begins work early in hopes of making her land more fertile so that she will have an abundant and productive harvest. This determines how much she will earn when she sells her products at the wholesale market in Tarma. What she enjoys most about her work is protecting her crops from pests that can ruin her harvest. Nilda has been farming for 30 years and considers the most difficult part to be transporting her products to the market because they have to be handled with great care. In time she wants to buy additional land so that she can increase production.

This is her seventh loan with MFP. Nilda knows that she has to submit all of her payments on time and she is determined to do so. As a member of her Communal Bank, she is committed to the development of her group. The loan of 1000 PEN that she requested will be used to buy more compost to improve her crops.
