A loan of $775 helps to buy construction materials to repair her home, and also to buy stock for her frozen foods business.

Luisa's story

Luisa has enjoyed the fruits of her labor, as she could expand her business after receiving her previous loan from Kiva lenders. She has expanded her business operations to sell a wider variety of frozen meats and snacks.

Her home has also suffered considerable damage since Super Tropical Cyclone Yasa hit the country in December 2020, and her business also suffered losses because of the power shortages.

Luisa is seeking a loan to buy construction materials and also stock to continue her frozen foods business.

It has been proven that women invest higher proportions of their earnings in their family and community, so a loan would not only benefit her family, but her community as well.

This loan is special because:

It provides emergency funding to clients affected by tropical cyclone Yasa.
