A loan helped to buy fabric to make more of her dresses.

Nilufar's story

Nilufar, a professional tailor in the city of Tursun-zoda, has had a home-based sewing business for ten years, mostly making traditional Tajik dresses to order. It is her favorite thing to do and adds to the family income. (Nilufar has five children, and her husband is a guest worker in Russia.) She wants to buy fabric so that she can make more traditional dresses, to order and for off-the-rack sale. Those dresses are very fashionable in Tajikistan, and many women prefer to have them custom-made. Nilufar is turning to you for the support that is so essential to her.
