A loan of $2,875 helps to pay for some personal medical clinic expenses so an elderly member from the vulnerable Egyptian community will recover her health.

Lumturije's story

Lumturije, a member of the vulnerable Egyptian community who is devoted to Christianity, is in her fifties and lives in southeastern Albania. She is married and has two adult sons who live with their own families while Lumturije lives with her elderly husband.

Unlike other members of her community who live in suburbia, she plants veggies and crops and this earns her an income besides her and her husband's very low retirement pensions.

Lumturije is requesting a loan from Agro & Social Fund for the 11th time. With this loan, she wants to pay for some personal medical clinic expenses so she will recover her health and will be able to have a normal life activity.

This loan is special because:

It helps heavily marginalized Roma and Egyptian women create better lives for their families.
