Totoa's story

Totoa is 57 years old and married with 6 children. She lives in a rural village in Samoa. She owns and operates a vegetable market. She has been running her business for 9 years now. She’s a hardworking person that would do anything to help her family.

She became a borrower with SPBD 10 years ago and has successfully borrowed and repaid 5 loans. Due to her successful history, she is one of a select group that is eligible for a larger loan of $5,000 She will use this loan to expand her business.

Her dream is to build many vegetable markets in different villages near hers. She became a member of SPBD in 2010. In the past, Totoa has used the profits from her business to help pay for higher education for her children. In the future, Totoa hopes to buy a new vehicle to help her with her business.
