A loan of $775 helps a member to purchase hybrid seeds and fertilizer for the cultivation of maize, as well as two solar lights.

Conslata's Group's story

Conslata's Group is formed by 17 farmers in Alego District and is being represented by Conslata, who is the group leader pictured above. She is 50 years old and has 9 children. Conslata has been a farmer for 10 years and is often referred to as a very reliable person.

Conslata isn’t new to One Acre Fund, she actually joined the program in 2016 and has since noticed her life has changed; especially in the sense that she has had more profits from each harvest ever since.

This year, Conslata will not only get fertilizer and maize seeds as part of her loan, but will also purchase two solar lights. She is very excited about this addition since now she will be able to have light during dark hours for her children to be able to study.

Using this loan, Conslata's Group will purchase a total of 6 solar lights and use the farming inputs received to plant a total of 8.25 acres.

In this group: Conslata, Beatrice, Ben, David, Everline, Monica, Agnes, Jacklyn, Martin, Roseline, Walter, Elizabeth, Gladys, Rosemary, Carren, Phillister, Stephen

This loan is special because:

It supports smallholder farmers to purchase seeds and solar lanterns.
