Janeth's story

Janeth is a 29-year-old mother of 2 school-going children living in Sotik, a town whose surroundings have vast agricultural potential with numerous small farms and vast agricultural enterprises. She raises dairy animals and grows different crops to earn a living and has been a farmer for many years.

Agriculture has become exceedingly dynamic, upgrading the kind of necessary inputs. Farmers need to use improved inputs for effective production, including high-quality seeds and nutrient-rich fertilizer.

Accessing funds in Kenya, especially as a woman and around her area, is very challenging. But Janeth feels relieved to know that there are institutions such as Kiva helping enterprising women like her.

Janeth is always working to improve her family’s living conditions. Her biggest dreams are to become independent and support her family by herself, secure her children’s future, and buy a home.
