Mulu's story

Mulu is 38 years old and married with 8 children. She lives in a rural village in Samoa. She owns and operates a retail shop in her village. She has been running her business for 9 years now. She’s a hardworking, person that would do anything to help her family.

She became a borrower with SPBD, and has successfully borrowed and repaid 5 loans. Due to her successful history, She is one of a select group that is eligible for a larger loan of 13,000 WST. She will use this loan to expand her business.

With this loan, She will also be supporting her community by providing services (transportation). In the past, Mulu has used the profits from her business to employing local people as her business grows and helps her children’s education.
In the future, she hopes to build a taxi station at her place to expand her business. Her dream is to build a taxi station at different places to cover the whole country with the good services of her business, by providing transportation as well as restocking her retail shop.
She became a member of SPBD in 2010. In the past, Mulu has used the profits from her business to help pay for higher education for her children. In the future, Mulu hopes to open a larger store, and also dreams of building a new home.
