A loan helped a member to buy plastic shoes to boost her initial capital.

Uhaki Group's story

Madam Esperance is a client with MFI Hekima and the president of village group Uhaki. She is 64 years old, a widow and the mother of 12 children, including three attending school and nine grown up.
She sells shoes, a business she started 19 years ago with seed money obtained from Hekima to support her business which developed gradually. With this new loan, she will purchase plastic shoes, which will boost her initial capital. Her business challenges are due to lack of customers.
She would like to feed her family and for her children to continue their education. Finally, she wishes to thank Hekima and its partners for their support to non bankable business owners in this crisis linked to Covid-19. Only the leader of the group is pictures, due to Covid-19 and to observe social distancing.
