A loan of $725 helped purchase fertiliser to improve crops.

Jenny's story

Jenny, 30, is a woman who is a great contributor. She lives in her mother's house together with her husband Atis (33). They have 3 small children. Jenny works planting potatoes, maize, peas and gladioli flowers, which are some of the best in the zone thanks to painstaking dedication she gives to them. What Jenny likes most about her work is planting the gladioli seeds and enjoying their exquisite smell. Nevertheless, she gets annoyed sometimes because her plots are so far away from her house. On top of her agricultural work she also raises 16 cows, which she has at the top of the village where she lives. Jenny's husband works as a driller in a mine in the south of Peru and comes home every 20 days. In the future Jenny is planning to continue to plant seeds, and for this wants to purchase more plots of productive land in her area. She also wants to build a house in the central city zone to install a food-sale business. This is the second time Jenny has had a loan from MFP and she is happy to work with the other members of her communal bank, as it has proved to be a good group, with Jenny presiding on the board of directors. All the members actively work to pay their repayments punctually. Jenny plans to invest this loan in the purchase of various sacks of fertiliser which she will scatter over her pea, maize and potato crops.
