Julia

A loan of $1,000 helped bUYING RICE, SUGAR, AND BEANS TO MAKE TOASTED ARTISAN PRODUCTS.

Julia's story

Julia makes toasted corn, beans, and rice, which she produces artisan fashion, an art she learned from her grandparents. She used to live in a rental unit but by working hard, Julia was able to buy a house which, now, is of bricks and adobe. She lives with her husband and 4 children. Each morning Julia rises and goes to work, producing toasted goods to supply her customers.

At present, her house is some 2 kilometers from the Quillacollo-Cochabamba highway. It is very difficult for Julia to get her products to the avenue, but her husband has a small car and he helps her transport her toasted goods. She feels very happy to have access to loans with Kiva credit, because it permits her to expand her capital and maintain her 4 children. In the photo, you will see her very content, displaying her toasted products.
