01_Cité Lamy Est 2 Group's story

These brave women are part of this Banc Villageois that has been established since December 2014. They live in the same neighbourhood and maintain strong friendships. They have repaid several loans on time.

Thiaka, forty-seven years old, is the representative on the right side of the photo with her arm raised. She is a married woman and does not have children. Thiaka works selling fabric and incense, which she purchases in bulk from large retailers and sells door-to-door to customers in her neighbourhood. She has many years of experience.

With this new loan, she will buy thirty twelve-yard lengths of wax fabric and incense and use part of the money as working funds. She has a faithful customer base who is satisfied with the merchandise she offers to them. The profits earned will allow her to save money and to develop her business to reach self-sufficiency in the coming years.
