A loan of $275 helps a member to purchase hybrid seeds and fertilizer for the cultivation of maize.

Maureen's Group's story

Maureen, pictured above, has been a farmer for 6 years, and is now proud to represent her group of 12 farmers in Alego District. She is 32 years old, married and has 2 children.

Maureen likes to think of herself as a very experienced farmer. She has been working alongside One Acre Fund since 2018 and decided to represent her group because she wanted to spread the story of One Acre Fund farmers. She says that being part of the One Acre Fund community has meant that she has been able to consistently feed her family. Maureen plans to use the profits from this coming season to send her children to school.

In total, Maureen’s Group will receive inputs to cultivate 3.5 acres of land.

In this group: Maureen, Eunice, Lucas, Charles, David, Ireen, Daisy, Elizabeth, Fransis, Iddy, Charles, Karren
